I think Kyouya gets off on stress because he seems like the type to be all like "GAH THE STRESS" and then keep on doing it. xD. So it's probably better stated as "He performs better when he's under pressure. Lots of it."

I've always noticed that extremely intelligent, competitive people always seem to have really messy writing. I also don't think calligraphy would be one of those things Kyouya deemed important enough to do it neatly . . .
