I absolutely love this and is rather intrigued by your take of his character and the choices he makes, how he views the world around him, and himself. He and Haruhi are sort of my favorite characters, so I always love the little insights I receive from authors. In a way, there was something sad about the practicality in this fic that I can see so easily in both Haruhi's and Kyouya's characters. They seem to see the world around them at times in ways that are different from how everyone else in the club may view it.
