Dear Shipoween Creator,

Thank you for creating for me! As a general rule, I'm not that fussy on my DNWs. The list below should be seen as being general in nature, and there can always be exceptions. If you have an idea and want to know if it'll conflict, don't hesitate to reach out to a mod and ask!

General Likes:

• Fics that are character-focused, character-driven, and deal with character exploration or character development. Show me aspects of a character I never considered before, or explorations of how a character's unbringing influences their worldviews!


• Fics as challenge, whether it be a challenge on canon, on fanon, on fandom, or a comment on our own reality!


• A focus on relationships, particularly how a character interacts with the world around them and other characters based on their upbringing and worldview.


• Thematically, I love when characters are put in a tough spot, moral ambiguity, and themes around honour, duty, and responsibility.


• All favours of AU. Modern AUs, Mundane AUs, crossovers, etc, especially if it interacts with one of the above.


• World-building, especially through in-universe documents (please consider this an opt-in to pretty much whatever in-universe document or weird storytelling device you can dream up.


• Romance of all varieties: fluff, happy endings, drunken confessions, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, fake marriage, arranged marriages, first times, established relationships, slow-burn, shovel talk, and mutual pining. Smut-wise, I love possessive themes, mild BDSM and D/s with femsub, impregnation and pregnancy.


• Other things I like include fix-it fics, canon divergence, missing scenes, etc.

General DNWs:

My DNWs are all pretty case-dependent. However, in general, I don't take well to crack fic, soapbox fic (ie I do not want a character getting on a soapbox to tell me about a Real World Society Issue or Philosophy... have some class and at least put it under a veneer of canonical plausibility, please), amnesia fic, body swaps, cringe comedy,and plots based miscommunication or jealousy. If there is hurt, I would like comfort, or I often just can't get through it--same goes for angst.

I DNW character bashing. In general, I like to imagine that all characters are like people--they're complex, and they have an array of good points and bad points. Except otherwise indicated, I also DNW major character death.

Smut DNWs: Adultery or infidelity, large age differences (unless otherwise indicated or canon) or age play, A/B/O, humiliation, incest, mpreg, non-con or dub-con (unless otherwise stated), torture.

Art Likes:

I literally do not know enough about art to give you any guidance. Art is pretty. For comics, I have always gravitated more towards anime/manga style than others, but that is certainly not exclusive! I DNW explicit art, but I love fanart of all types, especially if they are of my own work!

Harry Potter Requests

1. Luna Lovegood/Rolf Scamander, Neville Longbottom/Luna Lovegood/Pansy Parkinson, Pansy Parkinson/Percy Weasley, Susan Bones/Blaise Zabini, Tracey Davis/Ron Weasley

It's Halloween! To be honest, with any of these pairings, I would generally prefer something light-hearted set after the Second Wizarding World. How did Luna and Rolf meet (also, where was Rolf during the entire series)? How do Pansy and Percy, or Susan and Blaise, or Tracey and Ron, get together and find common ground? As for the only threesome in this group, how did they get together and how does that relationship work or you could just give me 300 words of threesome cuddling and I'd be okay with that.

2. Scorpius Malfoy & Albus Severus Potter & Rose Weasley, Scorpius Malfoy/Rose Weasley

For the kids, I'd love to see something set at Hogwarts! I'm open to having something a little scarier here because something always seems to happen at Halloween at Hogwarts! For Scorose, I'd really like them to be at least 16 if there's anything really raunchy (please note that kisses are not "really raunchy", they can be 14 for just kissing).

Tortall

Since Tortall doesn't seem to have a "Halloween" event (unless you Modern AU this, which I am by the way totally down for), if you keep it in canon I'd prefer this be more seasonal with a "harvest festival" or "Mid-Autumn Festival" or something. Coloured leaves! The brisk in the air! I know that "seasonal" isn't autumn for everyone, but it seems to be in Tortall, so if in canon setting, I'd like that preserved.

1. Alan of Pirate's Swoop/Keladry of Mindelan, Domitan of Masbolle/Keladry of Mindelan, Faleron of King's Reach/Keladry of Mindelan

I always thought Kel was interesting because she's very much defined by her knighthood, and in a different way than Alanna. She was the Girl Page, then the Girl Squire, and I think there's even a quote from the books about how she's seen as "sexless" by most of the pages and squires and knights. Especially for Dom and Faleron, I'd love to see something about how they come to see her as a woman. For Alan, who's probably different because of Alanna, I'd love to see how they meet or get together. Established-relationship fluff never goes amiss either!

2. Domitan of Masbolle & Lerant of Eldorne, Keladry of Mindelan & Nealan of Queenscove

Sarcasm and snark! Teasing! Friendship, even awkward friendship! I have nothing to tell you, I'd just like something light and funny.

3. Yukimi noh Daiomoru/Nealan of Queenscove

My favourite canon couple! I'd love to see more of their post-canon lives--what about when Yuki meets Neal's family, or her first visit to Queenscove? Their first autumn together after the war? Yuki handling the traditional Queenscove Harvest Feast?

4. Numair Salmalín/Veralidaine Sarrasri

My other favourite canon couple! I'd love to see what magical shenanigans happen at the Harvest or mid-autumn, and whether the gods get involved or not. Daine's mother is a minor fertility goddess, after all! Kidfic is also welcome, I'd love to see cameos from Kitten, Sarralyn, and Rikash. Even if they don't have Halloween specifically, maybe they still want to dress up?

5. Kaddar Iliniat/Kalasin of Conté, Roald II of Conté/Shinkokami of Conté

The arranged marriage couples! With Kaddar and Kalasin, I think there's room to explore "seasonal" that isn't autumn--maybe they're going on a Grand Progress and are in the far south when the mid-autumn festival is happening? Tons of room for worldbuilding here. As for Roald and Shinkokami, is there a difference between Tortallan and Yamani mid-autumn traditions?
