Thank you for creating for me! I am sure I will love whatever you create, since they are of fic I already love, and I hope you love them too. Feel free to poke around the rest of my exchange letters for things I request a lot, and if you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to a mod!

General

General Likes:

• Fics that are character-focused, character-driven, and deal with character exploration or character development. Show me aspects of a character I never considered before, or explorations of how a character's upbringing influences their worldview! I also especially love minor characters, particularly BIPOC characters!
• Fics as challenge, whether it be a challenge on canon, on fanon, on fandom, or a comment on our own reality. Basically, I like literary shit, don’t be afraid to go literary and write reflective shit that talks about politics.
• A focus on relationships, particularly how a character interacts with the world around them, and other characters based on their upbringing and worldview.
• Thematically, I love when characters are put in a tough spot, moral ambiguity, and themes around honour, duty, and responsibility.
• All flavours of AU. Canon-divergence, Modern AUs, Mundane AUs, crossovers, etc, especially if it interacts with one of the above. I especially like Rule 63 AUs because of the potential for exploring gender and how it impacts and socializes characters.
• Worldbuilding, especially through in-universe documents (please consider this an opt-in to pretty much whatever in-universe document or weird in-universe storytelling device you can dream up).
• Alongside the worldbuilding, I really like accuracy and real-life details. My favourite fics have included discussions of 9/11, I’ve written fic where R2P is a big deal, I suspect I’m known for my legal shit, and so—if you have specialized knowledge of something, I love seeing it!
• Romance of all varieties: fluff, happy endings, drunken confessions, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, fake marriage, arranged marriages, established relationships, slow-burn, shovel talk, and pining (mutual or otherwise). In general, I prefer M/F pairings, but I don’t mind M/M or F/F pairings and prefer them if canon.
• Smut-wise, I love first times, gentle sex, rough sex, possessive themes, mild BDSM (e.g. bondage, spanking with a hand), D/s with femsub, impregnation and pregnancy.

I am always open to treats!

General Dislikes:

In general, unless specifically requested, I don't tend to enjoy crack fic, soapbox fic/issuefic, amnesia fic, body swaps, cringe comedy, and plots based on miscommunication or jealousy. If there is hurt, I usually like comfort, or I often just can't get through it—same goes for angst (unless explicitly requested, of course). That said, these are general dislikes—they're not DNWs, I have liked fics with all these, and I have sometimes requested these things. If you have an idea that you’re worried might come close to one of these, don’t worry and go for it.

Hard DNWs:

Please note that these are my general hard DNWs. In some cases, there may be sections where some (or all!) of them won't apply, and in that case follow what was in the sign up.

• Character bashing. In general, I like to imagine that all characters are like people—they're complex, and they have an array of good points and bad points.
• Harm or death to pregnant women, children or small animals (background mentions or past references is fine, as are things like statistics—I just don’t want to be dragged through it in detail, like please don’t make this a central point of the fic).
• Except otherwise indicated, non-canonical major character death, graphic violence and torture (graphic being “more than what is in canon”), non-con or dub-con, PWP or large age differences (>15)
• Adultery or infidelity (specifically, this is mostly about the betrayal--if you have a plot where two people are married for convenience and happen to have other relationships, that wouldn't trigger as long as everyone knows and doesn't care)
• Smut-wise, unless it’s indicated above in my likes, I’m likely not going to appreciate anything kinky. To be more specific, I DNW A/B/O, age play, humiliation, bloodplay, cannibalism or vore, watersports, scat, mpreg, snuff, or underage (<15).

Bridgerton Series

kitsunerei88: Seven Times Michael’s Proposals were Interrupted and One Time It Wasn’t (fic)

Honestly, I wrote this fic and I’d love to see someone take on the modern AU interpretations of each of the characters. From Anthony and Kate the high-powered career couple who mysteriously make it work, to writers Colin and Penelope and their untraditional relationship, to social justice advocate Eloise who is repeated arrested at protests—any and all of these would be fun! For Bridgerton, I love most of the canonical romances (even Eloise and Sir Phillip!), but my absolute favourite couples are Anthony/Kate, Colin/Penelope, and Michael/Francesca. I’d love a peep into any of these characters’ modern lives, with a side of fluffy ship fic (or gen fic, whatever floats your boat)!

 

Harry Potter

basketofnovas (slashmarks): the shame was on the other side (fic)

I really love this fic because there’s so much thought that went into this between the lines and behind the scenes, and I just want to see it. How were things different as a result of the double Rule 63? When do Denebola and Helden get together—and more importantly, when do they realize it’s real? What else changes in this AU? I’d also love weddingfic here with Denebola and Helden!

 

basketofnovas (slashmarks): seems like the north star returning (fic)

Again, this is a fic that is short, but actually has so much going on behind it. How does Severus’  path change as a result of being a woman? She never goes to the Dark Lord, but what space does she occupy? How about her relationship with Lily, clearly far closer? What about her future relationship with Harry? I love these kinds of fics because there’s really so much behind the scenes that I just want to know more!

 

astolat: Heal Thyself (fic)

I recently read this fic and I loved the portrayal of St. Mungo’s, the educational system, and all the minor characters. I loved Draco’s character arc through this fic, and I’ve love to see it from the perspective of some of the other Healers at St. Mungo’s, like Mirabilis or Leonora (a halfblood and Muggleborn!). I’d really love more about St. Mungo’s, the Healers there, and where Draco fits into it all!

 

Rigel Black Chronicles

kitsunerei88: Revolutionary Arc (fic series)

This is my most indulgent request and you know what, I stopped feeling guilty about it sometime after my OCs got canonical tags and other people requested it in multifandom exchanges. So, this is a longer section, but mainly because I’ve requested it before!

Some things I would love to see:

• I will eat Francesca/Aldon shipfic with a spoon. Give me a date scene, a holiday scene, something with snow and a cabin and a fireplace, whatever, I love it all.
• Non-canon ships like Aldon/Alex, Aldon/Hermione and Faleron/Francesca are also welcome! How do they happen? Tell me more.
• John! Give me more John, and John’s family!

·       I’d also be interested in any post-war worldbuilding you’d want to put together, especially about the Stormwings.

Honestly, I’ll be pretty happy with anything for this series, whether it follows one of my prompts or not.

clairelutra: nobody matters like you love (fic)

This is just such a perfect fic in so many ways for me. I love Daine, and I love Numair’s whole-hearted acceptance, and I love pregnancy fic, and I love how protective all the other characters are, and I love Modern AUs for this fandom. I would really love a sequel to this (fluffy babyfic!), or just more fluffy things with Numair and Daine either before this fic or after it.

Original Work

kitsunerei88: A Missing Memory (fic)

I wrote this for Heart Attack this year, and while my focus was worldbuilding through a case, that worldbuilding was fun! Urban fantasy in a world where people often have different powers was fun, then building essentially crime-drama within it while thinking about how magic would be used in this sort of setting was interesting. I'd really love to see more worldbuilding in this, or art of this. I was very much inspired by a sort of magical 1890s London, if that helps, with lots of rain and fog!
